| Youth Workshops |
Children and youth should have access to quality, safe, and enriching thinking, and storytelling that young people need to effectively express their visions. This FREE workshop will give a voice to these youth. In the process they gain self-esteem, master modern technology and are transformed from passive consumers to active creators of media. It will teach and encourage youth to gain self-esteem, develop media literacy and technology, and learn disciplines. Youth will be taught how to write a script, compete to have that script produced, WGA registered, entered into film festivals, and win the industry standard scriptwriting software Final Draft! They will have curriculum/manuals covering lessons on screen writing and receive a certificate of completion at the end of the workshop. The youth will also watch award winning scripts and receive resources such as information on colleges with degrees in media. To qualify, students must:
