Youth Writing Contest
Youth

We believe that screen writing holds essential disciplines of
literacy, communication, creative and critical thinking, and
storytelling that young people need to effectively express their
visions.

This writing contest will give a voice to these youth. In the process
they gain self-esteem,  and are transformed from passive
consumers to active creators of media.  It will teach and encourage
youth to gain self-esteem, develop media literacy and technology,
and learn disciplines.

The winning writer will have their stories transformed
into a short film by an Atlanta producer, WGA
registered, and entered into film festivals!

To enter students must:
  • Have a current GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Write a 3-5pg. story on an issue or experience that has
    influenced or shaped their lives or the lives of others.


The Deadline to apply is : August 22nd, 2008, the winner will be
announced September 1st
